iDC Textures with Actions

Q: Why am I asked for a password when trying to open the Textures with Actions Instructions PDF?

A:If you are asked for a password, it means that your computer is trying to open the PDF in Adobe Photoshop®. You need to open this PDF in Adobe Reader® which is available for free from the Adobe web site: www.adobe.com

Q: I have loaded the actions from iDC Textures with Actions. All of the workflow actions, such as Hollywood Glam work fine. However, when I try to use any of the Texure actions (Any action where the title ends with :Texture ), Photoshop wants me to select/open a file. If I hit cancel, it closes my document. Why aren't the Texture actions working?

***Mac users may recieve an error message that simply states "The command Paste is not currently available". This is caused by the same problem.

A: The iDC Textures v01 folder has not been copied to the correct place on your hard drive. If this folder is copied to the correct place, you will not be asked to open any files. The Textures with Actions Instructions PDF indicates where this folder needs to be copied to on both Mac and Windows systems.

On Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Textures with Actions v01
The iDC Textures v01 folder must be copied to this directory. If the hard drive that you have your program files installed on has a different drive letter, then create the directory tree shown here on your C: drive. If you do not have a C: drive, please call iDC Photo Video so that we can help you get this product working correctly. We can produce a custom set of Actions for your system for a small fee.

On Mac OSX: Simply drag the iDC Textures v01 folder onto the hard drive you have OSX installed on. For example, on a default system this hard drive is called Macintosh HD.
The path would be /Textures with Actions v01
This is the root directory of your hard drive. The iDC Textures v01 folder should not be inside of any other folders. If you have re-named your hard drive to something other than Macintosh HD, the actions will still work correctly.

iDC Album Design Actions

Q: I am having trouble resizing my pages. I am using Photoshop CS3 Extended and a Windows Vista Ultimate computer. When I drag the Album Master Templates folder onto any re-size Droplet icon, I get an error message that reads "Adobe Photoshop CS2 has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

A: Currently, Droplets do not work with Windows Vista because of UAC (User Access Control). If you cannot resolve the UAC issue please contact us as we do have an Action solution to use in conjunction with Photoshop® batch processing.
Here is some information from the Adobe website (Photoshop Extended Read Me):

Using Droplets on Vista:

To use Droplets on Vista, make sure that Photoshop and the Droplet exe are running at the same level of User Access Control. If Photoshop is elevated to run as administrator the droplet exe should be elevated as well. If Photoshop® is not running elevated, the default configuration of a droplet will work as expected.

Q: I am trying to use RAW files to place in my pages using the iDC Album Design Actions. Somtimes, after I have placed the image and I press Enter to continue in the Action, the image I placed disappears and does not get placed in the layout.

A: In order to fix this, you need to change the Actions Palette Playback Options from Accelerated to Step by Step. To do this, open the wing menu on the Actions Palette and select Playback Options. In the dialogue box, select Step by Step and press ok.
