Our Background:
"We learned our craft as image-makers in Hollywood, New York, and Paris, and have the scars to prove it! Maura has twenty years of Hollywood experience as an Art Director and Visual Effects Producer, and Bruce capped a youthful career in fashion and advertising photography with over twenty-five years in the very exclusive Director’s Guild of America. We have earned a plethora of industry awards for excellence in design and image-making, but take pride in approaching each new commission with freshness and enthusiasm."

Our Philosophy

Discover something fresh, do something clever, see something elusive, be someone admirable, wear something silly, ask something meaningful, learn something true, make something beautiful, and always - always - build upon the artistic wisdom of the giants who preceded us. We believe that anything worth doing must be done with passion, and we are truly passionate about our art and craft.” - Maura & Bruce

Our Products: Tools Born of Necessity

Each and every iDC product is personally designed and field-tested by Bruce Dorn, DGA. While a few other manufacturers of image-capture tools do consult with working pros as to the utility of their products, only iDC can boast that their Chief Designer and Head Bottle Washer has more than thirty-five years as a fulltime professional imagemaker.

Although Bruce has enjoyed a rich and varied career as a Director, Cameraman, and Photographer, his formal training is in Design. Bruce spent four years as an Associate Professor of Design at Indiana University where he taught advanced courses in both Photography and Design.

As a Mechanical Designer, Bruce has earned acclaim as a builder of custom motorcycles and racing cars. His efforts have been featured in mainstream enthusiast magazines such as Hot Bike and Hot Rod. Insiders credit Bruce with the inspiration of the hugely popular Harley Davidson Fat Boy that appeared shortly after one of his clients, Willie G. Davidson, spent hours pouring over the details of one of Bruce’s pet projects.

All of Bruce’s iDC designs are born of necessity. When Bruce reaches for a specific tool and cannot find it, he retires to the shop and builds it. The products you see on the pages of this website are the result of his relentless pursuit of minimalist functionality. All iDC products are made in the USA!
