I’ve already posted information about how to join me this spring for an EOS Destination Workshop in beautiful Sedona, Arizona, but there are another couple of opportunities that I failed to mention. My Bad! In September, I’ll take my show on the road for two one-day workshops in equally spectacular Jackson Hole Wyoming. I like to pop into Jackson right when the aspen trees are changing color and I always make a point of hiring some great looking cowboys or cowgirls to pepper into the landscape... 

Here’s some recently edited video I captured while teaching and directing our on-camera talent during a multi-day workshop I hosted in the same general area.

Canon USA has long reserved the inside back cover of New York City’s Photo District News magazine for an ongoing advertorial series they call “Inside: The Story Behind the Shot”. Canon has used this page to showcase my beauty work several times in the past but this edition is kinda special to me. The featured image was 100% the product of lighting gear that I have designed and, in many cases, built myself. Read the text in the attached advertorial to learn more! But most importantly, does the purple clash with my glasses? Be honest...

Well, it’s chilly and cloudy right now but we can count on it being pleasantly warm when I host my next Canon-sponsored "Environmental Portraiture Workshop". I’ll be teaching two individual day-long sessions in beautiful Sedona, Arizona and you really should sign up to join me. Last year’s sessions filled to capacity and we made some stunningly beautiful images. Check out some of my test shots from last year’s session!

CES 2012 is wrapping up, and Bruce is heading over to The Big Easy for PPA's 2012 Imaging USA convention at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. You can find him in Canon's tradeshow booth giving a presentation on "Creative Cinematography". You will also find him there giving free speedlite tips. Stop by and say hello!

Bruce created a series of free Speedlite Tutorials for the Canon Digital Learning Center, titled Environmental Portraits with Speedlites: Tutorial Series.
You will need to go to Canon's Digital Learning Center to watch the tutorials.

Well, I recently returned from an exciting expedition with a great team of overland adventurers and am happy to report that I remain unbroken and very much alive, much to my surprise. Credit (or blame) for this Old Geezer’s survival rests entirely with Scott Brady, the Publisher of the oh-so-excellent Overland Journal magazine and our incredibly patient and nurturing lead climber, Cam Brensinger, Founder and Senior Designer of Nemo Equipment. 

We're in New York City this week for the 2011 PhotoPlus Expo, and this year is sure to be very exciting. Besides the premier of the fabulous new Canon 1D X full-frame Pro camera, the big news is that PDN and WPPI have teamed up to offer an East Coast version of the always popular WPPI convention. Should be a great show!
On Friday, October 28th, I'll be presenting, "The Moving Portrait: Up to the Minute Information on HD Filmmaking Tools & Techniques" at the Javits Center. The show runs from 8:45am to 11:45am. Catch me if you can...

And, since you're in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by the always popular Canon booth. I'll be demonstrating various cool Speedlite techniques each day from the 27th through the 28th. My schedule will be prominently posted in the speedlite area of the Canon Booth.

iDC will also have an exhibitor's booth in the Main PPE Hall. Come by and check out our lovely gadgets in Booth #337. The lovely and talented Maura will be there too...

Here’s something fun - Western Digital is once again hosting me and 8 lucky winners for a photo session on Wednesday, October 26th. We also held this event last year and it was a blast. We’ll have a model and a couple of hours of prime shooting opportunities on the streets of Manhattan. I’ll be along as guide and mentor with the intention of helping all attendees get loads of great shots.

On October 6th, 2011, iDC Photo Video will launch a vastly improved online shopping experience.
